The letter I can't send.....

Today is Carlos's twelfth birthday!  He lives in Mexico.  I had the privilege of corresponding with him for five months (November 2011-April 2012).  It broke my heart when he moved away from the Compassion project just over a year ago.  He touched my heart with his final letter to me.  You can read more about Carlos (and his final letter) HERE.

Please join me in praying that his birthday wishes come true!

Dear Carlos,

Happy birthday!!  Today you turned 12.  I am so proud of you.  You are such a smart boy, and you're very sweet too.

I miss you so much!  And I will never forget you.  I didn't want to lose a friend either, but I trust that God is taking care of you.  I know that He is always watching over you, and I pray for you often.  I pray that God will protect you and bless you.  I pray that you will grow closer to God and read your Bible.

It is one of my biggest wishes to find you in Mexico someday.  I would love to see what you're up to and to chat with you.  I would tell you how special you are and how much I love you!  Sadly, that dream probably won't come true.  But I know that I will meet you one day in heaven.  I will see you and rejoice, Carlos, because I love you so much!

Always follow Jesus with your whole heart and share His love with everyone.  Don't ever forget that God is always with you.  He will never leave you or forsake you.  He loves you so much.

I miss you, Carlos.  And I hope that you have the best birthday ever!  I pray that your special day will be as special as you are to me!

Love, your friend,
Lizzie
